Chris Gianatti

Chris is a Partner and Solicitor with FCB.

He has 10 years' experience in Employment and Workplace Relations. He articled and spent his early years as a junior IR lawyer at Corrs - after which he joined Telstra's HR Legal Team for 4 years as HR Legal Counsel for the "Factory" (being Telstra's back of house operations covering among other functions the Field Technicians, Engineers, Delivery Management, Procurement, Vendor Management and Payroll). In this role he also provided high level legal support for Telstra's Corporate HR Specialists in Workplace Relations, Remuneration, Talent, CHSE and Corporate Security.

Chris' expertise spans the full range of Employment and Industrial Relations matters, including:

  • Strategic IR, Enterprise Bargaining and Major Industrial Disputes (including good faith bargaining and protected action litigation and picketing)
  • Corporate Change Management (with a particular focus on Corporate Restructuring, Outsourcing and Performance)
  • Executive Contracts, Incentive Remuneration and Corporate Policy
  • Unfair Dismissal, EEO and Privacy
  • OH&S, and
  • Workplace Surveillance.

Since joining the firm in December 2008, Chris has led a number of projects for the Firm's key clients across a range of industries in terms of strategy and compliance - covering award modernisation, union disputes, good faith bargaining, outsourcing and transfer of business, industrial action and secret ballots, contracts of employment, corporate policy, manager training and change management.
