Richard Breden

Richard is a Partner with FCB Law and Managing Director of FCB Technology.

Richard commenced employment with FCB in 1998, moving to Melbourne to start up the Melbourne practice in 2001 before furthering his studies in 2003. Following the completion of a Masters of Business Administration, Richard held the position of Workplace Relations and Corporate Affairs Manager (Australia/New Zealand) for Manpower Services. Richard has also held Senior Management and Directorship positions in the Hospitality and IT industries respectively.

In 2006 Richard, together with the Partners of FCB, founded a software business designed to support companies in the effective management of their HR & Legal responsibilities. In 2010, FCB Technology now has over 1000 companies actively using its software, including Sanitarium, News Ltd, AAPT, and the Australian Retailers Association.

Richard has 12 years experience in a diverse range of industrial and employee relations' areas and has appeared in most State and Federal jurisdictions in Australia and New Zealand.

RichardÂ’s competencies, including:

  • national industry award negotiations
  • development and implementation of strategic workplace agreement initiatives
  • discrimination and harrassment complaints
  • unfair and unlawful dismissals; and
  • broad based human resources procedures and policies

have allowed him to develop value creating IR & HR strategies through the ever changing and increasingly important medium of technology.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Masters of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
