Breakfast Seminar: Mental Health in the Workplace Lifecycle
With up to 1 in 5 Australian adults suffering from a mental illness in any year*, managing the mental health and wellbeing of our workforce resonates as a compelling measure of how an organisation values its people.
We work with Australian employers on a daily basis to manage workplace events, incidents and claims where the mental health of one or more staff members is a factor. Our upcoming series of Workplace Matters breakfast seminars offer an interactive sequence of real case studies, where we will explore some of the key workplace & safety law issues that can arise for HR professionals within the business at the point of recruitment & on-boarding, during and at the end of the work relationship.
In these seminars, we will explore some field-tested examples of how to manage mental health in the workplace with deftness, sensitivity and an understanding of the commercial imperatives of their organisation.
You will walk away with:
- An examination of three real-world case studies involving mental health concerns in the workplace lifecycle; recruitment & on-boarding, performance management and termination
- An exploration of some skills and processes for managing workers with mental health conditions or substance abuse issues
- An understanding of the key legal framework of the rights and obligations of an employee and an employer in those case studies
- An appreciation of the complexities in dealing with mental health in the workplace and strategies to maximise your effectiveness.
