Jacob Wyllie

Head of Migration

FCB Smart Visa

Jacob is the Head of Migration at FCB Smart Visa. He is a registered migration agent (MARN 0959622) who specialises in advising Australian businesses on migration issues.

‘Prior to becoming a migration agent, I lived in Japan for nine years, where I worked in business development and management for a development consultancy which undertook projects for both the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, among others. I began my career in migration working in the immigration section of the Australian Embassy in Tokyo. Working for the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) gave me unique insights into, and a detailed understanding of, the internal processes of DIBP, which is important when providing holistic advice to clients. I then went on to set up and manage the migration practice of a contract management company with a labour agreement for on-hire, where I specialised in employment based visas.’

As a result of many years of study and the time he spent living and working in Japan, Jacob is fluent in Japanese.

Jacob played a key role in setting up FCB Smart Visa as the migration service within FCB Group. He specialises in advising on all employment based migration matters including:

  • Standard Business Sponsorship/457 visa applications
  • Employer Nomination Scheme applications
  • Labour agreements
  • Migration compliance

During the course of his career as a migration agent, Jacob has assisted hundreds of businesses and individuals with applications and advice. He guides clients through the complex, bureaucratic processes involved, so that they can achieve their migration goals, and always provides comprehensive but clear explanations so that clients understand exactly what is going on.

‘I believe that what sets FCB Smart Visa apart from our competitors is the quality of our service, advice and people. We have highly qualified and very experienced migration agents and lawyers on our team. The fantastic thing about FCB Group is that we span the full gamut of employment-related services, from HR consulting to employment law to visas. Although we are a boutique firm, we are large enough to compete with the bigger firms, and we are renowned for our personalised style of service.’
